This program is for skaters who are working on Star 1 – Star 3. The program runs Tuesday 5:25 p.m. to 6:20 p.m., Thursday (optional) 5:25-6:20 p.m., and Saturday 10:30 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. Two 15 minute stroking lessons per week and one group spin session are included. Skaters can arrange private, semi-private, or group lessons from a professional coach for the various types of skating (skills, dance, freeskate, or interpretive). Each coach will provide the skater with a fee schedule for lessons as well as for competitions and a policy for missed lessons.

Evaluation takes place at scheduled test days; however, it is the responsibility of the coach and parent to communicate regarding the skater’s progress (and to determine when he/she will be ready to try tests). When the skater is not in a lesson he/she is expected to be on the ice practicing what they have learned. While lessons are important, practice is key to success in skating. Skaters are also expected to follow certain safety rules and to respect other skaters and coaches both on and off the ice.

If you have any concerns, please feel free to contact the WSC President, Tracy Billings.
